This is Serious Muscle Therapy!  Applied correctly, it works!

David Weiner, Practitioner

David first became interested in "body awareness techniques" to enhance his ability as a professional musician.

Over the last 35 years, he has studied how to improve body mechanics by utilizing Yoga, The Alexander Technique, Functional Movement, Weight Training & various other forms of Bodywork (Massage Therapy).

David specializes in Neuromuscular Muscle Therapy focusing on soft tissue correction of musculoskeletal injuries and has done so full time for 24 years.

He received his training in massage therapy from The Pennsylvania School of Muscle Therapy (PSMT). During his coursework, David trained in pathology, anatomy, physiology and muscle therapy (advanced massage techniques). He is a member of the American Massage Therapy Association.

Prior to this adventure, David was a full-time classical musician and performed with: The Philadelphia Orchestra, Naples Philharmonic, Charleston Symphony, Delaware Symphony, and served as an Adjunct Faculty Member of Music at Drexel University and The Temple University (Pre-College Division.)

David received his Bachelor's Degree from The Curtis Institute of Music and his Master's Degree from Temple University. He has also studied at the University of Pennsylvania and The Juilliard School of the Arts.

Most recently, David completed his 200-hour Yoga Teacher Training at Hotbox.  This certification is approved by the Yoga Alliance.  Prior to receiving this certification, David was an active practitioner of yoga "on & off the Mats" for 32 years.  You are likely to find him practicing yoga 1st thing in the morning at Hotbox (6:15am) or teaching yoga at the Jivala Yoga Studio in the Aquatic & Fitness Center, Bala Cynwyd. He is also slated to take yoga teacher "work vacations" in Turkes & Caicos.

Massage Therapy creates positive changes in damaged soft tissue

This is accomplished by

  • Improving blood flow to the area of pain or injury
  • Blood transports oxygen, minerals & nutrients "the good stuff"
  • Blood lubricates the tissue allowing it to "glide" like oil does for a car engine
  • Endorphins and Serotonin are released to further reduce pain
